Nana Yaa Tuah is from Techiman, in the Brong Ahafo Rehion of Ghana. She registered onto Fasiba in November 2016, and was the first person to lay away money on the platform. She opted for the maize standard pack for 2 acres which cost 1,494 GHS in total. Since registering she has consistently contributed money every week and has successfully reached her goal. She now awaits delivery of the inputs to her community. Upon speaking to Nana Yaa, she explained that she is a beautician, using Fasiba for her mother, who is a smallholder farmer. Her mother often comes to her for funds to purchase inputs during planting season; which she sometimes found difficult to raise at a go. She realized her ability to raise this money affected the yield of her mother’s farm. For Nana, Fasiba is a good opportunity to save over a period of time so that she can provide the inputs to her mother when she needs it.
